Technical Sales Representative (Calgary, Alberta)

Alltech Calgary is currently looking for a Technical Sales Representative to cover our Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan sales territory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regularly visit our industry partners (feed companies, consulting nutritionists, veterinarians, producers, government agencies, etc.) across the territory to manage existing relationships while cultivating new relationships.
  • Ensure our partners have the tools to understand how Alltech provides value to our customers
  • Answer all customer questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with office support, marketing and management staff.
  • Ensure necessary updates are completed and submitted on time.
  • Drive sales by identifying customer needs and finding solutions before there is a problem.
  • Attend industry events and tradeshows to showcase Alltech is a positive, professional manner.
  • Host producer meetings and events to help brand Alltech.
  • Support range of Alltech products on-farm with the producer.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A strong technical background: BSc, MSc or higher.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to coordinate the company's technical and commercial resources to deliver customer solutions in the marketplace.
  • Minimum 1-5 years of experience in the animal health and feed industry is required.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and fun individual looking for a challenging position in a dynamic global organization.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.

As part of Alltech's continuous growth, the company is currently seeking to recruit 45 new Technical Sales Mangers to add to its current team of over 300 sales representatives throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia within the next six months.

Key responsibilities include:

We now intend to further expand our presence. We are looking for new managers for the US and Canada, new technical sales managers in European countries. Due to our growth in developing regions we are seeking new managers to expand the Latin American team and managers supporting the dramatic growth in Asian markets, especially India, China and countries in South East Asia. These roles will focus on building the company's key product brands, including Mycosorb®, Bio-Mos®, Bioplex® and Sel-Plex®.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Have a strong technical background (BSc, MSc, PhD or Veterinarian degree) with sales and commercial experience
  • Be responsible for technical support
  • Coordinate the company's technical and commercial resources to deliver customized solutions to the marketplace
  • Have knowledge and experience of animal health and the feed industry
  • Have a second language other than English, where English is not the mother tongue
  • Must be willing to travel
